We are recruiting a trainee patent attorney for our chemistry/life sciences group.

The successful candidate will ideally have a first-class chemistry or biochemistry degree. A PhD is an advantage but not essential. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in speech and in writing, is of the utmost importance. We are looking for candidates with a good eye for detail, and a general interest in technology.

The position will involve working directly with a partner on a varied patent-related workload, including drafting new patent applications, corresponding with clients and patent offices, opposing patents and providing advice to clients.

A varied program of training will be provided, including internal seminars and tutorials, as well as external courses. We have a proven track record of candidates being successful in the UK and European professional examinations at their first attempt, which follows from recruiting only the best candidates. We can also demonstrate that we can offer rapid career advancement to partnership for the right candidates.

Our client base is dominated by large, high-profile multinational corporations. Our core focus is to deliver a high quality product, by requiring a high standard of technical competence from our attorneys, as well as meeting and exceeding client expectations.

The position will be based in our London or Sevenoaks office. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package, including a contributory pension, health insurance and generous holiday entitlement.
