Secerna LLP is looking to recruit a trainee patent attorney to join the Life Sciences team in the firm’s York office.

As a trainee patent attorney at Secerna you can expect to work closely with the Partners and Senior Attorneys at the firm on a broad range of matters including original patent drafting and amendment. In addition, you will gain invaluable experience assisting on the contentious and advisory work the firm has a reputation for.

Candidates must have a proven excellent academic record, with at least a first or upper second class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or a related subject.

The position is ideally suited to a recent graduate or post-graduate and is immediately available. Although the preference is to recruit someone immediately, the firm would be interested in receiving applications from candidates graduating in summer 2019.

As well as having a strong academic record, candidates must also be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to express themselves in a clear and logical manner, both orally and in writing.
