Lord Marland has been announced as the new minister for intellectual property (IP) following a cabinet reshuffle.

Lord Marland takes over from Baroness Wilcox who was IP minister from May 2010.

The UK government is unique in Europe in having a minister whose principal responsibility is intellectual property.
