Google has ended a patent war with Microsoft over technology used in the Xbox 360.
Google has asked the US International Trade Commission to withdraw both of their dispute claims. The disputes were started when Google claimed that Microsoft was using their video coding and connectivity technologies.
Google previously said in court that Microsoft should pay up to £2.5 billion a year to use its patents. This was rejected by Microsoft who argued that the patents were only worth around £623,000 per year to use. Had the dispute gone ahead, a judge would have been asked to decide whether the royalties suggested by Google were too high.
