Huawei files to trademark mobile OS around the world after US ban
Huawei is in the process of potentially launching its “Honmeng” operating system (OS) to replace the US Android OS, an executive said on Thursday. Data from a U.N. body showed that Huawei Technologies Co Ltd is aiming to trademark the OS in at least nine countries and Europe, in a sign it may be deploying a back-up plan in key markets as U.S. sanctions threaten its business model.
