IP Inclusive’s new “Summer of IP” is a series of events and work experience opportunities to help people find their way into careers in IP (intellectual property).

What is Summer of IP?
The ‘Summer of IP’ was created by Careers in Ideas to raise awareness about the various careers in IP and to attract a more diverse range of people into IP professions.
Launched on 3rd July 2023, it will run throughout the summer period.
What does it offer?
Employer opportunities
Firstly, IP sector employers are offering numerous exciting opportunities such as taster days, work experience placements and mock hearings. These will be taking place around the country including in Birmingham, Cambridge, Liverpool and Manchester. Some have application deadlines coming up soon, so you will need to move quickly to secure your place!

Introductory talks:
Secondly, Careers in Ideas are hosting a series of general talks which will provide an introduction to IP and the different careers available. There is a wide range of talks, which includes “Routes to legal qualification for IP solicitors and barristers”, “Applying to train as a patent or trade mark attorney” and “Working as an in-house IP professional”.
