USPTO Issues Artificial Intelligence Strategy
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in intellectual property is as big – and as fast-changing – a topic as ever. Early this year, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published an Artificial Intelligence Strategy document which discusses how the USPTO “aim[s] to address AI’s promise and challenges across intellectual property (IP) policy, agency operations, and the broader innovation ecosystem.”
Thatchers Triumphs in Trade Mark Trial
The Court of Appeal delivered a significant judgment in the case of Thatchers Cider Company Limited v. Aldi Stores Limited, ruling in favour of Thatchers in its trade mark infringement claim against Aldi. This decision overturned a previous High Court ruling from January 2024, which had dismissed Thatchers’ claims.
Saudi Arabia joins the Hague International Design System
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has announced that Saudi Arabia will be joining the Hague System for International Designs on 7th April 2025, further increasing the System’s coverage to 99 countries.
