Boult Wade Tennant, an award winning, top tier IP firm, is seeking an excellent and ambitious patent attorney to join our Biotechnology and Life Sciences team based in Cambridge.  Ideally we are looking for a candidate to join at partner level, or to move up to this position in the near future.  We have an immediate need for an attorney who is a team player and has high level people management skills, to assume responsibility for direct client work and assisting with the training of more junior team members.   There is also the opportunity to work with our London-based team and potentially divide time between the two offices if the candidate so desires.

The workload of our Biotechnology and Life Sciences group has been growing year on year, and this has accelerated in recent months.  Our work is highly varied and includes a great deal of advisory work (including due diligence and freedom to operate assessments), EPO opposition and appeal (a growth area), patent drafting and worldwide prosecution for a variety of direct clients at home and overseas. The technologies we deal with are also wide-ranging and include: diagnostic technologies, Next Generation Sequencing and its applications, therapeutics (including vaccines and antibodies), therapeutic formulations, analyte detection technologies, stem cell technologies, genetic analysis, gene editing (including CRISPR) and gene silencing (including RNAi).

Requirements:

  • CPA and EPA
  • A minimum of 340 UCAS points (AAB) at A Level, ideally including biology and chemistry
  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree in the biological sciences
