We have an ideal opportunity for up to 4 bright and ambitious graduates to join a professional services firm and gain a broad understanding of the administrative processes involved in protecting the intellectual property of our clients.
Positions will initially be offered as 12 month fixed term contracts. However for the right candidates, there will be the opportunity for further progression within the Records & Formalities dept. Successful candidates will be provided with 12 months basic training in Patent and Trade Marks administration with future opportunities to gain a recognised qualification in the profession.
Applicants must be interested in working in an office environment and exploring a career in the field of Intellectual Property. In addition, they must be keen to develop new skills and progress as the firm transitions to a more electronic (paper light) environment.
The role involves a high level of interaction with Partners and staff around the firm. A smart appearance and ability to communicate appropriately is therefore essential.
Principal responsibilities:
- Handling all file movement within the office
- Opening & distributing incoming post to Partners and technical assistants
- Archiving closed/granted files in the basement
- Any other miscellaneous clerical and administrative tasks within the Records & Formalities dept.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
- University Graduate (any discipline considered)
- Basic level IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet)
- Work experience in an office environment (ideal but not essential)
Hours:
Standard hours 9am to 5pm (but also required to work 8am to 4pm and 8:30am to 4:30pm on a rota basis.
