About us
Forresters IP LLP is a leading full service intellectual property firm with an international client base. We have offices located in Birmingham, Liverpool, London and Munich. Since being established in 1884, we have grown from a regional firm into an international practice. Despite our long history we are a modern firm with a fresh approach to our clients’ requirements and employee career progression. We are rated as one of the leading intellectual property firms in the UK.
Purpose
As a Business and Project Executive, you will support our Chief Operating Officer (COO) in this highly operational role and across all business areas. We are looking for someone with experience to run operational projects from inception to successful implementation.
You will also act as the supportive bridge between the Management Board, Heads of Department and other managers within Forresters. This is a great opportunity for you to add value at all levels within the business.
This is a full-time permanent role, although we are happy to consider part-time working of 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE).
Location and Reporting Lines
You will report directly to our COO.
Ideally you will be within commutable distance from either our London office; this is where our COO is situated, or our Birmingham office.
Travel to our other offices will be required.
There may be a requirement to manage a small team around admin or facilities management.
What will the role entail?
Working closely with the COO will mean you will be involved with various projects related to the operations of the business; these may come from within any of our business support functions, such as IT, Operations, HR, Finance and Marketing, or from the Management Board. It will be important that you are able to manage all aspects of running a project e.g from inception, through to successful delivery. Adhoc projects such as overseeing an office move, or the organisation of a company attended away day could require your attention.
You will be the initial point of contact for the COO and will be charged with taking on any research/analysis work as required.
Supporting the COO with the day-to-day operations of the business, especially around Management Board and Equity Partner Meetings, will be integral to the role, so your communication skills will be exemplary.
Working on confidential matters will be the norm, so it’s essential that you are able to act with a high level of integrity to preserve the trust the business expects from this position and our COO.
To be successful….
Be highly organised, proactive and a great problem solver. Being someone that can build trust easily and form long-standing and effecting working relationships will make you a real asset.
Given the nature of this role, it is imperative that you have strong business acumen, financial and economic knowledge, and have experience of working across different functional areas to independently coordinate and deliver projects. Attention to detail is a must, as will be your ability to draft and create clear and articulate communications. You should have a high degree of computer literacy, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
Ideally you should have a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience of operating in a similar senior level role, preferably from within a professional services environment.
Start date: As soon as possible but notice periods will be considered for the right candidate.
