Location: Bristol (with consideration for candidates based in London, Sheffield, or the West Midlands)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of Patent Law, focusing on Engineering and Aerospace technologies
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the UK, Europe, and worldwide
  • Conduct thorough patentability and freedom-to-operate searches
  • Provide strategic counsel on patent portfolios and IP rights management
  • Represent clients in oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office (EPO)
  • Collaborate closely with inventors, engineers, and in-house legal teams to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into robust patent applications

Qualifications:

  • Part/ Qualified Patent Attorney (UK and/or European)
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field
  • Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patents within the Engineering or Aerospace sectors
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to grasp complex technical details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
