The Position

We are opening up recruitment into our life sciences team for a 2025 start (or sooner if completing your Phd for example. The role can be based within any of our Life Sciences teams across our UK offices which are situated in Glasgow, London, Manchester and York.

You will work alongside our team of attorneys and fellow trainees to support our clients in the protection of their IP. The role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities (e.g. drafting patent applications and construct technical arguments to support patent grant); requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work to deadlines.

Our life sciences team prides itself on its expertise in a variety of specialist areas including CRISPR, microbiome therapeutics, food tech, cell and gene therapy, agri-tech and femtech.

About You

You will have either a 2:1 Bachelors, Masters, PhD or beyond in a life sciences related subject, this could include but is not limited to; Biology related degrees or bioinformatics/computational biology degrees.

Beyond your academic credentials, the key skills needed for the role are:

  • Strong written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • A team player who is comfortable working on independent tasks
  • Ability to digest and act upon constructive feedback
  • Attitude and aptitude to want to develop your skillset
  • Personable individual with a client focused mentality
