JOB SUMMARY
Providing administration and legal support to the Fee Earners who are engaged in providing clients with advice and support in the field of trade marks and designs.
As well as providing internal support, this role will have some aspects of client facing work
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Drafting new EU/UK trade mark and design applications
- Provide complex administration services in a timely, professional and reliable manner
- Manage workload and productivity
- Support fee earners with office action responses organising e-folders and managing client portfolios
- Support fee earners in client care activities including preparation of estimates
- Manage and maintain the e-filing system
- Manage business trips to clients and conferences
- Assist with the preparation of monthly client invoices (in co-ordination with the billing co-ordinator where appointed), invoices, credit and debit notes adding service charges to Work In Progress (WIP) as appropriate
- Handling of recordals
- Support team projects and processes and contribute to process improvement and implementation
- Actively participate in administrative projects as a representative of the team

Any other duties a partner, fee earner or senior member of staff may reasonably ask you to carry out
PERSON SPECIFICATION
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience as a trademark administrator, complemented by some paralegal experience and a readiness to take on more advanced paralegal responsibilities.
- GCSEs (ideally at least 5 at Grade 6 or above, including Maths and English) or equivalent
- CITMA Paralegal certification would be beneficial
- Knowledge of legal principles, research techniques & legal terminology in the field of intellectual property
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Trade Mark Searching Platforms and Registers
