Withers & Rogers’ Life Sciences & Chemistry group has a depth of expertise and experience in the chemical, biochemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in academic research. You will be working with specialists across the group who have extensive experience in addressing the technical and legal issues affecting this critical sector, so there is plenty of opportunity to learn and develop within the team.
Our client base is truly global, including entrepreneurs, biotechnology and genetic research companies, pharmaceutical companies, horticulturalists developing new plant varieties, medical device companies, veterinary supply companies, and a number of chemical companies working in areas as diverse as fuel cells, liquid crystals and cosmetics. We also act for NHS Trusts and the research departments and technology transfer groups of many British universities. We frequently work with university spin-out companies.
We’re looking for applicants who have a background in Chemistry or pharmaceutical work. You will have qualified as a European Patent Attorney, and have demonstrable drafting experience. You will be able to demonstrate analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients at all levels, the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
